Trip to Gentry Farm!

Last weekend we headed to Gentry Farm with some friends, Yang, Zeq and Olivia, for some fall fun.   We'd discovered this place last year and I was excited to go back!  Miss Olivia is a few months younger than Evelyn, so they play together really well.  Here are a few pics Zeq took when we were there. (Love his photography!)
Side note: traveling to a pumpkin patch/farm as a solo parent with a toddler is not advised!  I was exhausted!!

Just drivin' my tractor!

(Yes, this is my daughter trying to eat the chicken coup fence. Ick. 3 cheers for immune systems!)

This pic encompasses Ev at this age. Always eating. Stuffing the cheeks to the brim and washing it down with water!

Olivia is such a character!

Ev. Master of the mini grain silo.

...gulp.- UPDATE!

If you read this blog post, say a little prayer for me. Brendon has gone to Montana to hunt with my family and Ev and I stayed home. For me, this is the first time in her life that I've been alone with her for one night, let alone five!  We've got some things planned, but.... I have to admit to being nervous!!

I made it!  Brendon made it home last night.  So grateful to have him home!

Nike Women's Marathon

Well, I just returned from San Francisco, where I ran the Nike Women's Marathon with my friends, Carole and Ashleigh.  I hadn't been feeling very well the week beforehand, and didn't feel great on the day of, but we made the best of it had HAD. A. BLAST.  Hands down, one of my favorite races.    We got up at 4:30a, slammed down some excellent coffee (thanks, Ashleigh!!) and cheerios and headed into downtown San Francisco.  There were 22,500 total runners, and you could feel the intense energy from the moment we arrived.  The race meant a lot to me, as it was my second marathon and I got to run the full 26.2 with my bestie, Carole, which made it extra special.  We took our time, ran for FUN and really just enjoyed the experience. Here are some pics I took along the way!!

Pre-race smiles!

Views of the streets...

Smiles at the half marathon point...

Trip to Minnesota

We just got back from a long overdue trip to Minnesota. The last time we were there, I had just interviewed at Vanderbilt and was 26 weeks pregnant!! Evelyn got to meet a number of family members for the first time and we all enjoyed boating on the lake and just relaxing. Here we are on the last day there, all dressed up, ready to watch the Minnesota Vikings... click on the pic of Ev below to link to an album of pics from our trip!
