Cora Jane- 8 months

Cora was 8 months old on Friday! She's getting to be a big girl. Babbling like crazy.  No crawling yet, but we think it may be quite soon!

Annie rocks the Country Music 1/2 Marathon!

It was a cold and wet day in Nashville, race time high of 55 and must have rained inches during the run (flash flood warnings are coming across the air as we speak). Truly a soggy day and one to better spend hunkered in the house watching old movies and playing games....that is of course unless you are Annie!

She got up well before the sun, prepped and was running at 7:00 am along with roughly 30,000 other troopers on either a 1/2 or full marathon course. Me and the girls were able to see her at both the 4 and 8 mile marks to cheer her on. Her spirits were high and she looked great albeit chilled and soaked! She completed the 13.1 miles in 2:05 which is not far off her personal best pace and even more impressive since she hasn't run any more than 8 miles at a time since last October! In the spirit of Cora, she went out there "chill cakes" style and pegged a great 1/2 marathon.

She tried the poncho a la black garbage bag to try and stay dry (only lasted a few miles).

Pics of West End Ave. just before the start of the race.

Annie at mile 4, soaked to the bone already but having fun.

Camping!

This past weekend, we took our second camping trip as family of four!
In Oregon, Brendon and I camped frequently, but since we moved to Nashville when Ev was 4 months old, we hadn't really camped at all until Cora was about a month old.  Recently, we've wanted to get back to doing all the things we did before kids, or at least modified versions thereof.

We really do loving being in the outdoors, so we packed up and headed out last weekend.  We arrived at the camping spot around 10am, went for a hike (and discovered a river we think might be ok for fly fishing!), had lunch, pitched the tents and the girls went down for naps.  During nap time, the rain started... and continued.... by 5pm we'd had enough of the continuous rain and decided to pack up and head home. Glad we did, as it continued to rain all evening and night.
On the way home we stopped by "Truelove's Pizza and Grits" in Columbia, TN.
Awesome.
Only in the South.

All in all, we had a GREAT time and can't wait to go again weekend after next.

All packed up!

Norwegian cookie + toasted marshmallow!

(Here's where the rain started.)

Nice.

All the gear hung out to dry at home...
