After a month of running 18-20 miles every weekend, its now time to taper-off, in preparation for the Portland marathon Oct. 6th. (Did you know you'll be able to track my progress online?? Check out the Portland Marathon site on the day-of for details.) We will travel to Oregon from Oct. 2 to Oct 9. We haven't been "home" in over 2 years, so its bound to be a trip full of emotions and building memories and we can't wait.
(Truth be told, it's hard for me to even type about it. A faculty member from the University of Oregon visited Vanderbilt recently and I got choked up at dinner talking to him about Oregon, but I managed to keep it together. Have I mentioned I miss Portland? A lot? ;-) )
ANYWAYS. Enough of the mushy stuff. There will be plenty of time for that when we are out there.
Tomorrow's run?
*Only* 12 miles.
Glorious!!
I smoked the last 20 miler in 3hours, 30 mins! (on an incredibly hilly route!) WOOO!
Tough to see, but here's the course. Suffice it to say, it's along the river for pretty much all of it. :-)
Woo hoo!!! Can't believe the marathon is almost here. You're going to do awesome and I'll definitely keep track of you while you're running. Wish I could be there cheering you on for this one. Just imagine me on the sidelines with a big sign!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you!!!!
