No baby yet.
Nurse called about an hour before we were supposed to be there this morning to say labor and delivery was full...
Of course, I'm all for deferring as long as possible, especially to give my spot to women who are actually in labor, but it was disappointing all the same.
It's looking like maybe tomorrow morning.
"Maybe."
The silver lining?
One more day to go into labor on my own.
One more night as a family of 3.
A greater chance that there will actually be a room for me when we arrive. ha!

Today is 40 weeks, 6 days!
Tomorrow at 8am we head into the hospital to meet meet her!
We are nervous and excited, but can't wait to hold her.

Folks have said the want more pregnancy pics, so here's one from today at work! 39 weeks, 5 days!

And so we wait... and answer everyone's questions.
Yes, I am still pregnant.
No, there haven't been any real signs that she's coming soon. A few things here and there, but nothing to write home about.
Yes, I am due on Saturday.
Yes, I am still working.
Yes, Evelyn is excited and no, we don't think she entirely "gets" what's about the happen.
Yes, she's likely to be about the same size as Evelyn. We had an ultrasound 2 days ago and the guess she's about 8lbs, already, but those estimates can be off by 1-2lbs, on either side.
Yes, I continue to try nearly everything in the realm of "natural" induction methods (teas, oils, acupuncture, pineapple, yoga ball, spicy food, walking miles, etc etc etc), in hopes of avoiding a hospital induction, like with Evelyn, but am completely ok with going that route if it comes to it. Hey, at least we know what to expect.
And finally, yes, we will blog/text/email as soon as we have her.

Seven continents...
And in another dose of cuteness, here's Ev singing about the 7 continents... errr... maybe, 8. Sounds like continent "Envelope" as been added to planet Earth, recently.

At daycare, Ev's been learning spanish and at home we (And by "we," I mean Brendon) have been working on that, as well as some German. Here's Ev counting in both.
The spanish is nearly perfect until number 16... but punctuated with a strong and excited Veinte!
And, I love how the German is good until "zehn." Where she just subs-in "ten" at-will.
((Oh, and she's on the potty. Thus, you just get audio. LOL.)

Celebrating Little Sister
Yesterday, my dear friends Emma and Kathryn hosted a "Baby's on It's Way Brunch," in honor of the newest Powell to be joining us here in about a month.
Originally, we were going to head to Marche, one of Nashville's fun places for brunch, but ultimately opted for the restaurant within Union Station Hotel downtown. It was so much fun and the perfect place to celebrate! Here are a few pics. Thanks to my girlfriends for coming!! And thanks to Brendon for watching 3 little girls (all under two and a half) so we could celebrate!

Big-girl bed
So, we've been awful about posting lately. So much going on.
BUT, I did have to post to brag, yet again, about my husband.
Brendon recently made Evelyn a big-girl bed and I am in love with it! So cute. It's a twin bed that can grow with her. The rails come off when it's time. The feet detach so you can attach taller ones. Oh, and it will bunk, when he makes another, when its time for Powell Baby #2 to be in a big-girl bed with her sister.
Best of all, Evelyn loves her new bed so far. Slept in it last night without a peep!

Proudly Presenting...
The Chariot Cougar 2! Our new double jogger!!
We thought and thought and thought about what kind of stroller to get for when Baby #2 arrives. Ultimately, we needed a daily stroller, a jogger and we wanted a bike trailer. We have a single, fixed-wheel BOB, and considered many "double" versions of things. The fixed wheel is a *must* in the hilly park we run in. Too much give and take with a "lockable" front wheel. After much research, we decided on this one.
Despite having only 10 weeks left until Baby Powell gets here, we haven't really prepared properly yet. Her room isn't finished, we haven't retrieved her clothes/carseat/bottles from the attic, BUT... we did get the all-important double jogger last evening. Clearly you can see where our priorities are!!
I could go ON AND ON about how cool this thing is, but suffice it to say that it holds two kids from newborn (with an attachment) to 100lbs, and functions as a normal stroller, fixed-wheel jogger and a bicycle trailer. Moreover, you can rearrange the straps, if only 1 child is riding, so that they can ride in the middle for even balance. Oh, and there's a trunk for a place to put your stuff. Oh, and it's light weight. Oh and there's a rain cover. Oh and the stroller wheels can stay attached so after running to your destination, you can pop the fixed wheel off, attach it to the "trunk" and stroll around. (As an aside, if you are so inclined, there's also a cross-country ski attachment and what has been referred to as the "rick-shaw" attachment for hiking trails. Neither of these options did we purchase, but they are available! This thing is amazingly versatile.)

Ok, I suppose we should probably get going on more important things like buying diapers and finding the bassinet sheets....
