Happy 1 year birthday, Cora Jane!
We can't believe it, but one year ago on August 26th 2012, Cora Jane Dietz Powell joined our family! She is the sweetest little girl and we love her so much.
Here we were one year ago:
Here we were one year ago:
(This photo doesn't even look real to me. Taken 12 days before she was born- 2 days before my "due date" of course, we all know how that went. If and when we have a third baby, I'll know to just ignore those pesky "due dates.")
Here she is now!
Stats:
Born at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, August 26th, 2012 at 4:58am
8lbs, 12oz and 20.5 inches
8lbs, 12oz and 20.5 inches
One year appt. August 27th, 2013:
21lbs, 3oz (71st percentile), 31 inches (97th percentile)
She's growing so much and eating everything we do! She walks along things (no independent steps yet) and says "bye-bye", and "up" and "uh-oh" and "dada". (Ok, and she signs "more." But now I'm just showing off. ha!). SUCH a joy to have!! We love you, Cora Jane!

Evelyn Anne is three!
This post is a couple of weeks late, but on February 8th, Evelyn Anne turned 3 years old!
Evelyn still exhibits the same enthusiasm for life that she always has.
New this year:
-becoming more fluent in both English and Spanish
-refining her fashion skills (insistence on completely dressing herself)
-throwing and kicking a ball quite well (we can't wait for soccer!)
-first formal swimming lessons
-sitting up to the table without a high chair
-being a WONDERFUL big sister
-starting her endeavor to collect everything in the world that is pink
-going #1 and #2 on the potty (only diapers overnight now!)
-first salon haircut
-an vastly improved ability to tell us stories that go on, and on and on and on,
-first books checked out at the library...
And many, many more things. Here's a look back at where we started and how we got here...
First, let's remember where we started:
Born: ~6:30am, Feb. 8th 2010 in Portland, Oregon (8 days overdue!)
Weight: 8lbs, 11oz (85%)
Height: 21.5 inches (90%)

4 months!
Cora Jane turned 4 months old yesterday! We can't believe how fast the time has gone. She's steadily gaining weight now after dropping heavily in the percentages for the first couple months. (Thankfully, her sister did the same thing, so this time we saw it coming and the pediatrician was less concerned.)
Here are the stats:
Weight: 13lbs, 4oz., 28th percentile. (Born at 8lbs, 12oz., 85th percentile)
Height: 23 inches, 80th percentile. (Born at 20.5 inches, 85th percentile)
Head Circumference: 42cm., 86th percentile. (Born at 35.5cm., 95th percentile)
Long and lanky, with a big ol' noggin'!
Just like big sis!
She's a big smiler and squeals here and there, but no belly laughs yet! Overall, very quiet and super calm. Brendon and I joke that we don't know what to do with a baby that just hangs out, perfectly content- and only cries (ever so moderately) when she actually needs something. Amazing how different in personalities our two kids are!
Next up- starting to eat some solid foods. Can't believe the time is already here.
Here's a pic from yesterday!
